Free memory from your device #androidtip

Do you have the problem of your phone complaining about no free space? Although you know you have it?

Well, I have been asking myself how it is possible, since I upgraded to a 8 GB of SD card and I don’t have so many applications. The answer is because many applications by default store on the device storage instead of your SD card. I would compare it to the C: drive on your computer, everybody wants to be there. Tsss.

What to do? It’s simple. Go to the settings of your phone (Android device, can differ a bit from version to version) and choose the application manager. There you have a top menu (downloaded, on SD card, running, all) that you can scroll, and the applications are listed. Click on a application and you will see a box saying “Move to SD card“. Then press it and do this for as many of the applications possible so you store it on the device storage. So:

settings>application manager> *Select application* >Move to SD card

On the bottom of each scrollable page you see in the Application manager you can also see a bar showing the amount of stored space and free space. It says device memory, RAM, SD card.

settings>application manager> *Välj app* >Move to SD card
