Funding Wikipedia

Do you use Wikipedia?

Strange question maybe, who doesn’t?

The other day I just did that, googled something and got a link to Wikipedia. This time they asked me to donate an amount to keep it ad free and therefore free. And so I did with a very small contribution.

I got this email back :

Over the past year, gifts like yours powered our efforts to expand the encyclopedia in 287 languages and to make it more accessible all over the world. We strive most to impact those who would not have access to education otherwise. We bring knowledge to people like Akshaya Iyengar from Solapur, India. Growing up in this small textile manufacturing town, she used Wikipedia as her primary learning source. For students in these areas, where books are scarce but mobile Internet access exists, Wikipedia is instrumental. Akshaya went on to graduate from college in India and now works as a software engineer in the United States. She credits Wikipedia with powering half of her knowledge.

This story is not unique. Our mission is lofty and presents great challenges. Most people who use Wikipedia are surprised to hear it is run by a non-profit organization and funded by your donations. Each year, just enough people donate to keep the sum of all human knowledge available for everyone. Thank you for making this mission possible.

On behalf of nearly half a billion people who read Wikipedia, thousands of volunteer editors, and staff at the Foundation, I thank you for keeping Wikipedia online and ad-free this year.

Help funding Wikipedia you too !

Vällingen behöver i princip bara koka upp.

Nypon är syrliga så ta lite mindre mängd nyponskalmjöl så slipper du söta om du inte som jag tycker om syrligt.

The rose hip cereal drink is the same process as the previous recipe only this time with the addition of rose hip powder, from dried rose hip.

Cereal Drink with rose hip
1 cup of oatmilk
1 cup water
1,5 tablespoons of polenta (corn flour)
1 tablespoon rose hip powder
A pinch of salt
Cardemom seeds
Some butter
*milkfree **glutenfree

Just stir the polenta and rose hip powder into the oatmilk and water. Let it boil for some minutes along with the seasoning. Rose hip is quite sour so take less of you think you would prefer it.

Hairstories part 1

Sometimes you just check an old photo and you’re like oh, that was when I … For me probably all the hairstyles I have gotten. Imagine some people think they have seen my original hair color. Oh, come on, it has never been seen since the mighty nighties! I guess just because I am an brown eyed girl they assume that I have very dark hair, actually it’s more of a lighter brown. Or at least it was, back in the days!

Ok, Hair story part 1!

hair collage 1

Amazing right? Many different styles I have managed. The pics are from 2009 and forward.

The Cure – Lullaby

This is an amazing song from a really good band, The Cure. So Goth, so poetic, so epic. The video is also cool and kind of creepy:

on candystripe legs spiderman comes
softly through the shadow of the evening sun
stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
looking for the victim shivering in bed
searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
suddenly! a movement in the corner of the
room! and there is nothing i can do when i
realise with freight that the spiderman is having
me for dinner tonight

quietly he laughs and shaking his head creeps
closer now closer to the foot of the bed and
softer than shadow and quicker than flies his
arms are all around me and his tongue in my
eyes “be still be calm be quiet now my precious
boy don’t struggle like that or i will only love
you more for it’s much too late to get away or
turn on the light the spiderman is having you
for dinner tonight”

and i feel like i’m being eaten by a thousand
million shivering furry holes and i know that in
the morning i will wake up in the shivering cold
and the spiderman is always hungry…

Egen müsli

Recept på en supergod hemgjord müsli!

5 dl dinkelflingor
5 dl havregryn
1 dl kokosflingor
0.5 dl malda pumpafrön
0.5 dl solrosfrön
0.5 dl malda cashewnötter
1 msk sesamfrön
2 msk nyponskalmjöl
2 msk kokosolja
1 msk rapsolja
0.5 dl vatten
1 dl torkade aprikoser

Flertalet av ingredienserna är ekologiska!

2015-02-17 18.11.09

Gör så här :

  1. Sätt ugnen på 175 grader.

A recipe for home made cereal, muesli. I don’t know how usual it is abroad but in Sweden it’s popular as breakfast with yoghurt or milk.

I used mostly organic products. The ingredients are :
2 cups of spelt, 2 cups of Oatmeal, 1/2 cup coco flakes, 1/4 of cup sunflower seeds, mixed pumpkin seeds and mixed cashew nuts each, 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds and rapeseed each, 2 tablespoons of dried rose – hip and coconut oil each, 1/4 cup water and 1/2 cup dried apricots.

Put the owen on 347 Fahrenheit degrees. Mix the dry ingredients with each other and then the oils in the 1/2 cup of water, preferably a little bit warm so the coconut oil will melt. Pour it on the mix.

Put in the owen for half an hour and stirr it about every ten minutes. Cut the dried apricots in small pieces and mix with the rest as soon as it get room temperature.
