Discover the making of: Red Leather Jacket

On social networks I have got comments about my lyrics, clearly because they are a big part of my music since the music is acoustic and soft. Also as I state in my WP/site header my music has a “passion for the environment”.

When I discuss those topics I often hear myself quoting my lyrics probably because I wrote a song before I told anyone my thoughts! So what was I thinking when I wrote the song Red Leather Jacket?

The song is about a red leather jacket (I know, you totally didn’t see that one coming) and also it’s owner. First in a store with new clothes and then suddenly in a thrift store. The owner gives it away but then it’s found again, the happiness!

When I shop second hand I have this fascination and imagination about the clothes, just because I know that someone had them before me. Do they have a special story? Is it a cloth someone had in their youth? Did they travel with it? So the song turned this fascination into a story that could be told by a second hand cloth in a thrift store!

I somehow find my second hand clothes so special, because when I saw them, they were one of a kind. Just the perfect match for me, in fine condition but still perfectly worn out so the fabric is soft. They carry a little story that they will never be able to share but that only adds to the mystery. And I also had that amazing luck to find them right then and there!
